VICTOR For Educators

This page provides resources to help educators bring volcanic modeling into their classrooms. VICTOR offers cloud-based tools, workflows, and models that let students explore volcanic phenomena while learning essential data science techniques.

The teaching materials developed by the VICTOR team include videos, tutorials, lecture slides, lab assignments, and case studies to help students engage with workflows, interdisciplinary models, and hazard assessment. Our goal is to provide hands-on studies to foster a deeper understanding of computation volcanology in real-world contexts.

Impact in the Classroom:

This lab was so awesome! I really enjoyed doing this assignment and hope to work with it some more in the future. I appreciate all the hard work that the people put into making this available. I want to try to modify this model to do testing for cryo-volcanos. It was my favorite assignment of the whole course. Thank you all, and I will be in touch about those tests! Everyone was so helpful, even though I did not really have time to reach out to anyone, yet!
